Please share your experiences with Botox

Hi,

I have been thinking about trying Botox but I wanted to hear other peoples thoughts and experiences...

TIA

I had a very bad allergic reaction to it.  This is not common but make sure to ask your physician what to do if you happen to see any side effects.

I'm 26 and had a Botox treatment several months ago. I noticed some fine lines on my forehead, brought it to the attention of my dermatologist and she told me having a Botox treatment now was a preventative measure and would help stop deep lines from forming on my forehead (which would require filler if they got too deep).

The treatment itself was virtually painless. I had some small red marks at the injection sites that disappeared after a few hours. Immediately after the treatment, I didn't notice any difference. After about a week, I noticed I could no longer move my forehead muscles like I once could. At first, I was a little freaked out with this sensation, but eventually enjoyed the feeling and was very satisfied with not having any lines on my forehead!

At the end of the day, receiving a botox treatment is a personal decision. If you have fine lines that bother you, Botox is a safe and effective way to help prevent or eliminate them. Botox only lasts 3 to 4 months and it's not cheap ($300-$1000, depending on how many units you require), so keep this in mind when making your decision.

Also, FYI, Botox is a particular (and the most popular) type of toxin made by Allergan. There are other toxins, like Xeomin and Dysport, but they aren't as popular. I personally prefer Botox and would make sure your doctor uses it!

Thank you AlexaS1990, I really appreciate the information, it really helped!!

I'm contemplating getting Botox for the first time at 43. Thanks for the information Alexa!
