What is CoolSculpting?
I had a friend who just finished getting coolsculpting done and lost the belly fat. They put the machine on the part of your body where the fat cells are needed to be broken down. After few days your body will gradually move them out of your system and hence the weight and fat loss. To know better about this non-surgical fat removal procedure, just go through this. http://www.breastandtummytuck.com/blog/liposuction/coolsculpting/
I had it done about 6 weeks ago on my upper & lower abs and my flanks and sides and I am glad I did it and I would recommend it to anyone.
There is no downtime and very little discomfort, the worst part is when they place the gel pack on the area to be treated b/c it is so cold and as the previous poster mentioned the Coolsculpting machine is like a vacuum, there is some discomfort for a few seconds and then it goes away b/c the area goes numb.
When I had my areas done I was able to watch TV, play on my phone, even go on my laptop. It was a very relaxing atmosphere.
CoolSculpting is cryolipolysis, or the destruction of fat cells by colder temperatures. The idea for CoolSculpting came from an observation that infants developed swelling and redness in their cheeks 6 to 72 hours after sucking on a popsicle or ice cube, and this swelling and redness sometimes led to dimples, which were caused by the destruction of fatty acids in the infant's cheeks from the cold temperatures of the popsicle or ice cube. Two dermatologists from Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Dieter Manstein and Dr. R. Rox Anderson, then decided to take this observation and apply cooling treatments to pigs, to see if it eliminated fat cells. Well, it worked and in 2010 Zeltiq launched CoolSculpting! The Coolsculpting machine itself is basically a vacuum with cooling pads. It works to eliminate small pockets of fat (it is not a weight loss machine and it does not work as well as liposuction, but it's less risky too) and is FDA approved for fat under your chin and in the love handle region. The treatment process is relatively painless, although you may experience some temporary numbness near the area that's treated. I have had it done, and you pretty much sit on a very comfortable chair, have what looks like a suction cup placed on your sides and you sit there are the machine cools the fat (notice I said cool and not freezes, as the temperature is above freezing but below your body temperature). The machine sucks in your fat, cools it and within several weeks you'll start to see results. I'm a big fan of Coolsculpting and highly recommend it to all of my friends.
