Why I Chose Coolsculpting...

I wanted to share my story with others as to why I chose to have Coolsculpting done on my abdomen as opposed to having Liposuction or a Tummy Tuck...

After having my kids via c-section I was left with a no muscle in my lower abdomen so no matter how many ab exercises I did nothing helped and unfortunately I was not blessed with abs like a Victoria Secret model to begin with.  Fast forward to today and after trying everything I decided to look into Coolsculpting as I did not want to have surgery, this would have meant out of work for about a week, not exercise for a bit, etc. and I really did not want that.  After doing my homework on the procedure I decided to go in for a consultation to see if I was even a candidate, and I was.  The aesthetician went through all the details and by the end of the appointment I decided to book my appointments for the procedure.  For me I needed 4 cycles and each cycle is 2 hours - upper and lower abs, flanks and sides.

My first appointment I was excited and nervous, they brought me into the room and it was very comfortable, there was a tv, a bed, etc, they really made it very nice and cozy.  Not only can you watch tv, but you can read, work on your lap top, and even take a nap.

I had my lower abs done first and when she put the gel pack on I nearly jumped, it was so cold.  I subsided after a few seconds and then the aesthetician put on the applicator and as it is latching on it hurts a little but then it gets numb and I did not feel anything. She helped me get comfortable, dimmed the light, turned the tv on and I sat back and relaxed for 1 hour and then did the same thing for the other side of my lower abs.  After 2 hours I was done, I walked out, I could workout, go to the mall, do anything I wanted - zero downtime!!

I will tell you that my stomach was numb for a bit after the procedures but it is normal and it went away after about 2 weeks.  You also need to remember that you do not see the results immediately, it takes about 6 weeks to start seeing some results and your body continues to work and the fat cells continue to die off.  Once they are gone, they are gone for good.

Remember that b/c you have this procedure done you still need to exercise and watch what you eat, but it works!!!  I have started to see a difference but my last procedure was just about 6 weeks ago so I know I will continue to see results.

In the end I am glad I did it, it is not cheap but knowing that there is no downtime is a huge plus for me.

So for all of you out there on the fence about going through with it, I say Go For It!!  You will be glad you did.

thanks for posting your coolsculpting story - it is very typical of our standard Coolsculpting patient.  At our practice we provide outpatient liposuction, but Coolsculpting is a great alternative for patients with an active lifestyle.
