Jawline surgery at the same time as my facelift?

I'm going to get a facelift in another few months and can't wait. In the meantime I've been researching other procedures I might be able to get at the same time as I'm getting my facelift. I've never been too crazy about my jaw and have started investigating getting implants or some other jawline surgery to give me a more pronounced jaw. My husband says I should wait until after my facelift to decide if I want more work done on my face but if I can get my jawline surgery at the same time as my face lift, wouldn't that be a more economical way to go about it? I guess I just don't know what to do. Any advice?

During your cosmetic surgery consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your skin elasticity and texture, along with your underlying bone and skin structure. Based on their evaluation, a custom surgical plan can me made that is tailored to your own needs. While this might show that it is quite possible to do jawline surgery at the same time as a facelift, it may also show that it is not the best route to take. Your doctor should have a full understanding of the results you are looking for. If your doctor does not think that simultaneous surgeries are the best option, they can likely make other suggestions that will help you reach your goals.

It is not uncommon to combine surgeries. Some procedures that often accompany a facelift are a mid facelift and blepharoplasty. The combination of procedures may end up creating an optimal result, however the best procedure approach for you should be discussed in full detail during your consultation.

Hi, there, Emma!

I would definitely say hold off getting the procedures done at the same time. I'm a stubborn lady myself, and I made the mistake of doing multiple procedures myself. (I had my nose fixed at the same time as my facelift.) I'm a baby about pain. I thought having them done at the same time would reduce my pain. WRONG! Yes, I was in pain for less time because I didn't undergo two different procedures, but oh did it hurt!! I would still do it again; I love the results! But personally I would wait. I wish I had!

Also, your husband sounds amazing. That seems more like he loves you just the way you are than anything else!

Whatever you choose to do, good luck.
