Dr. Brothers' educational journey began as an undergraduate in organic chemistry research at Emory University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors. He pursued his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. After an internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, he completed his residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Medical Center in the field of trauma/general surgery. While at Miami/Jacksn, Dr. Brothers became certified in both microvascular and microneural surgery. His plastic and reconstructive surgery training was completed at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He was later afforded the opportunity to further study cosmetic surgery under one of the most renowned and revered surgeons at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.
Dr. Brothers is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Fellow at the American College of Surgeons. He has held the position of Chief of Plastic Surgery at Perimeter Surgery Center of Atlanta, St. Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta, and at Northside Hospital. He research is consistently published in respected medical journals and he is often called upon to be a guest lecturer.
