Elisa A. Burgess, MD practices in Lake Oswego at Burgess Plastic Surgery as a Plastic Surgeon, board certified by American Board of Surgery - General and American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Burgess ...
My name is Melanie Pedersen and this is the story of my experience getting a mommy makeover.
I'm a 38 year old mother, who lives in Portland, Oregon. I chose Dr. Elizabeth Burgess for my mommy makeover surgery after meeting with several plastic surgeons. She made me feel the most comfortable and seemed to honestly care about me as a person, not just another patient. Part of the reason I chose Dr. Burgess was because of her expertise in breast reductions. I had originally only planned on having a breast reduction but after meeting her decided to have a full mommy makeover procedure (I had a bad case of diastasis recti). I ended up having a breast reduction and full tummy tuck with muscle repair. All appointments leading up to my surgery were so helpful. I fully knew what was going to happen and what I needed to do to prepare. I felt like I was in the best hands possible. The day of Dr. Burgess helped to calm my nerves and assured me that everything would be ok. I was in quite a bit of pain after my procedure but her nurses at the hospital took such good care of me. After being released Dr. Burgess and her staff followed up with me regularly and made sure I was healing well. My experience overall was above and beyond what I expected. I even had to have a small revision of some “dog ears” done in office a year after my original surgery. These dog ears can be typical after a tummy tuck, but Dr. Burgess took care of them quickly and effectively. My scars honestly look wonderful and at this point have mostly faded to mostly nothing. I can barely tell I had anything done. I am over 3 years out from my procedures at this point and have never looked or felt more confident. I never thought that I could love the way that I look again after having a child. Dr. Burgess and her staff are wonderful and going forward I would never trust anyone else with any future procedures. Her staff seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and it shows. They are helpful, courteous and answer any and all questions with a smile. The location of her office is also super convenient, which is helpful when you are post op and need to come in frequently for check ins with the doctor. I honestly could not recommend her more. I am getting ready to have CoolSculpting done by her office in the next week. I cannot wait to see the results of this next procedure and I will be sure to update my experience. I chose to document my mommy makeover journey on YouTube to help others understand what the procedure entails and what the recovery is like. It’s not for the faint of heart, but nothing ever worth doing is going to be easy. Below are the links to my before and then 3 years out. I hope it’s helpful!
I've attached videos and photos of me from before the mommy makeover and also after I had my mommy makeover.
