Cold and numb. That's the way I would describe my Coolsculpting experience. I went to Dr. Philip Miller's office in NYC for my treatment. I am a fit 28 year old male, who works as a model. I had a small pooch in the front of my stomach that I could not eliminate despite my best efforts. Surgery was a non-starter for me. I did not need it and even if I did, I wasn't willing to do it. Kaylyn Plum, Dr. Miller's PA, recommended I try a Coolsculpting treatment.
The Coolsculpting machine is this big white box with a screen that has a hose coming out of it. The hose is attached to the applicator, which is applied to your skin. Once the machine is turned on you feel pain as your skin and belly fat is sucked into the machine. The pain lasts around 3 or 4 minutes and then you go numb. I was comfortable throughout the treatment until the applicator was pulled off and the frozen block of my skin was massaged. The massage hurt. I was actually a bit stunned at how frozen my skin was. It looked like a red colored block and stayed that way even after the massage. It took a few hours for this block to thaw and flatten out. I was a little swollen for a few days, had some bruising around the edges of where the applicator was placed and was numb for probably a month.
My results from Coolsculpting were good. The pooch I had has flattened out and my abs are more defined. Coolsculpting has met my expectations and I would do it again. Kaylyn and Dr. Miller's staff were a pleasure to deal with.
