Does Juvederm work right away?

I’ve seen so many celebrities getting great results with Juvederm, and they all make it seem like it's such an ordinary and pleasant cosmetic treatment - something you can get done over a lunch break. Of course, the reality is not that simple. Nearly any surgery can result in bruising and swelling, and this one is no exception. How long does it take to see results from the Juvederm treatment? Does it settle in instantly? I want to know what to expect in case I decide to go forward with the procedure.

Juvederm® is a nonsurgical, noninvasive treatment and is considered to be the perfect lunch break procedure. Some light bruising may be experienced, but it can be concealed with makeup. The results are immediate, and after 24-hours all swelling will have dissipated. If an additional injection is desired, you can return to the office to have the treatment topped off. Patients are typically very pleased and easily maintain their results with annual or biannual treatments. Juvederm® is the perfect pre-cruise, wedding, party or reunion treatment because of its immediate results with little to no downtime or side effects.

I think it can be just a little different for everybody. Each type of filler is also different. Everybody I know has claimed to see the results of Juvederm immediately. I think it can take even a week or so with other types of fillers though.

Juvederm is used to add temporary volume to the skin. Many patients begin to see results with just one treatment (https://www.drugs.com/juvederm.html). Lidocaine is generally used prior to performing the procedure to ease any discomfort. The procedure itself lasts approximately thirty minutes, and results can begin to appear almost immediately afterward. Any side effects are expected to last no longer than 7 days. This may include swelling, bruising, lumps, and firmness.

Juvederm is a great filler but you will absolutely have 2-4 days of slight swelling, redness and bruising. The amount of swelling and redness you have won't be very noticeable to others, but you will certainly notice it. I usually am able to cover up my injection sites to the point that no one notices the day after I get them. As far as procedures go, having Juvederm injected isn't a big deal and the downtime is minimal. The benefits of looking more youthful far outweigh slight swelling and redness for a few days. I highly recommend it!
