Are necks considered part of a facelift?

Does it do anything to the hanging neck skin or is that a different procedure?

Thank you for the question and what would and should be done at the time of a facelift would be discussed ahead of time

Yes- your neck and lower face are closely intertwined and almost always performed in the same sitting to get a harmonious facial rejuvenation.

Thank you for sharing your question.  Each surgeon has his or her own technique.  In my practice, the neck is always addressed in a Facelift.  The hanging skin you mentioned would be tightened, or lifted up.  You should consult with Board Certified Plastic Surgeons in your area and ask for details regarding this.  I hope this information was helpful to you.

Best Wishes, Dr. B.

A classic facelift is actually removing excess skin of the neck and jowl. In our practice you can have fat injections at the same time to add additional volume in the mid-face. Check with your board certified plastic surgeon.

Best of luck on your journey

Generally, YES. But each PS has their own definitions to exactly what is included in a "FACELIFT" operation. Always ask specifics in our in person consultation. Dr B Miami
