Average Cost of Mommy Makeover?

How much does a mommy makeover cost? I know that prices can be very different depending on the area you live in, but I'm just looking for the average cost of such a procedure. My husband is worried we're gonna be broke afterwards. :) That's why I need to know how much of a financial burden it will be so I can hopefully support my case a little better.

A mommy makeovers is a combination of procedures that can help to rejuvenate and restore a woman's body after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Mommy makeover surgery is transformative, helping women to look and feel their best, reversing some of the natural physical changes that can accompany pregnancy such as loose skin, stubborn fat deposits, separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) or sagging breasts.

Mommy makeovers are customized to meet the specific needs of the woman undergoing the procedure and, as such, there is significant flexibility in the combination of procedures you can elect to undergo. Generally, mommy makeovers include breast surgery paired with liposuction, tummy tuck surgery, and, sometimes, an arm lift. The breast surgery could include breast implants, a breast lift, breast augmentation with lift, or breast reduction.

Because mommy makeovers vary from patient to patient, with some women choosing to undergo more procedures to achieve a more dramatic transformation, costs also vary. Factors that influence the final cost include the number and type of procedures you receive, surgeon fees, the expenses associated with the surgical facility, and, as you mentioned, the geographical location of your surgeon.

On average, you may expect to pay anywhere between $10,000 and $30,000 for a mommy makeover. If you are on a budget, you and your surgeon can develop a plan that will give you optimal results while staying within your financial budget.

If your surgeon feels that you would benefit from a mommy makeover that extends beyond your current financial means, there are other methods of financing cosmetic surgery procedures. Some aesthetic clinics offer their own financing plans, and Care Credit also has financing options that you may wish to consider. I would recommend scheduling an appointment with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine the type of mommy makeover that would be most suitable for you, to get a more accurate idea of the financial investment involved.

Mommy makeovers represent a way for women who have had children to invest in their appearance, self-confidence, and quality of life. They are immensely rewarding procedures for plastic surgeons to perform as they can have a transformative impact on women's lives.

The cost can be significant, but research and thorough consultation with your plastic surgeon will help you settle on a combination of mommy makeover procedures that can be performed in a single surgery, minimizing the need for multiple office visits and the costs associated with separate and distinct surgeries.

Great plastic surgeons can design a mommy makeover that meets your aesthetic goals and can be adjusted to accommodate budget restraints. You should never feel coerced into undergoing treatments that make you feel financially stretched, nor should you feel that you have to compromise on your goals because of your budget.

In general, a standard mommy makeover focuses on the midsection and the breasts and usually includes a breast lift with or without implants, and a variation of abdominal surgery such as mini tummy tuck or regular tummy tuck. For the three procedures to be performed in one surgery, the average cost is approximately $16,000. The fees can increase as you include additional procedures such as arm lifts, liposuction or a lower body lift.

However, bear in mind that this figure can vary based on the following factors:

  • Plastic surgeon's fee: Plastic surgeons with excellent reputations who can guarantee beautiful results tend to have higher fees to reflect their experience, expertise, and care of patients. Select a surgeon who regularly performs mommy makeovers and has a good track record. If you are making this investment in yourself, do not cut corners to save money as it might end up costing you in revision surgery later.
  • The location of your surgeon: There are outstanding plastic surgeons across the United States. However, the geographical area from where your surgeon operates will significantly affect cost. Surgeons in larger cities tend to have higher overhead costs which are reflected in their fees.
  • Facility fees: Your surgeon may operate in a private surgical suite, ambulatory surgery center or hospital. Ambulatory centers and hospitals tend to have higher fees because they have more resources available in case of emergency, and often provide nurses and anesthesiologists.
  • Additional costs: Preoperative and postoperative appointments, anesthesia fees, surgical dressings and drains, support garments, antibiotics, and pain medication may be charged separately. Be sure to check with your surgeon.

As there are so many diverse variables that contribute to the cost of the mommy makeover, I would suggest you schedule a consultation with a hands-on examination from an experienced plastic surgeon. This will give you the most accurate idea of the financial investment involved, and the combination of procedures that will provide the best results for you.

The price will vary widely depending upon the region of the country, which procedures are being performed, and the doctor who is performing them.  It can range from $15,000-$25,000.  You can privately submit a Request through this Zwivel platform to doctors in your area, adding your photos and budget, and they will reply with their estimated fees.  Many doctors offer financing through platforms like CareCredit.

Mommy makeover is a procedure that is very customized depending on what the patient needs. Sometimes, the patient doesn't  need very much, for example it could be breast lift and a little bit of liposuctio. Other times, the patient might require breast lift, silicone gel implants, tell me tuck, like a section, and labia plasty. In our practice, depending on what is needed, the cost can range between $10,000 and 20,000

Generally a mommy makeover consisting of mastopexy with an implant and tummy tuck with liposuction will probably cost around 13-20K in the northeast. Good Luck!
