Breast Augmentation Price: Is it Negotiable?
This might come as a very silly question but... is breast augmentation procedure ever negotiated in terms of price? It doesn't come cheap, and getting a fair price would count a lot for someone who has been saving for 3 years to afford going under the knife.
Thank you for your question. This is dependent on the Plastic Surgeon, and how his or her office runs. However, usually the prices posed are somewhat firm. There are a lot of different financing options (like Care Credit), that are very reasonable. Most of the time the office can help you with this during your consultation.
Thank you for sharing your question. This will vary greatly by office. Most Plastic Surgeons will not offer discounts to new patients, so I would say no, this is not negotiable. There are certain situations where you may be offered a discount, for instance if you were related to the surgeon or his staff, or have had other surgeries performed by the same Surgeon. Some offices offer a discount for referrals. If the Surgeon is highly qualified with extensive experience, they will probably not budge on the price. Please remember there are other more important factors when choosing a Surgeon for Breast Augmentation. Often, when someone chooses a Surgeon based on the lowest price, they end up very unhappy with their results. Spend your hard earned money on a qualified, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who can show you many before and after pictures of his or her work. I hope this was helpful to you.
Best Wishes, Dr. B.

It's uncomfortable to negotiate pricing for elective surgery. My practice manager will often ask me if I would approve a 10% discount here and there, and depending on the circumstances I will approve more often then not. If you are in a price war with a plastic surgeon, it might be a sign that you should seek another opinion.
