Can I fix my Neck Bands with Botox Injections?

My neckbands have really been frustrating me over the past few weeks. I need to wear a dress for my daughters’ wedding that puts my neck front and center and I have to do something about it. Will botox help? Some people say it will but I think there are other procedures that will help too right?

While I think Botox can be somewhat helpful to reduce neck bands, it is not nearly as effective as surgical correction with a necklift/lower facelift.  It will depend in part on how loose the skin is. Only an in-person exam can fully answer this but a video consultation and photos would be helpful.

Happy to assist.

Although there are other treatments for neck bands I would suggest that you should get the Botox treatment because it is very effective.

Neck bands can be treated and fixed with Botox treatment that is a non-surgical method of rejuvenating the aging neck. The Botox injections are safe to use and they temporary reduce the neck bands and give your neck a smoother and more youthful appearance.

The Botox treatment involves injecting the Botox that is a neurotoxin, into the muscle. When it is injected into the vertical bands of the neck, it stops the neural signals from being transmitted thus relaxing the muscle’s hyperactivity. It relaxes the dynamic muscles, making them less prominent, and resulting in a smoother, younger looking neck. The results of Botox treatment usually last up to 6 months.

Botox can be used to treat platysma muscle banding. This treatment requires re-dosing every 4-6 months. Surgical neck rejuvenation offers a more dramatic and long-lasting solution.
