Can laser blepharoplasty affect my vision?
I am depressed about the bags under my eyes and I would really like to get rid of them (It is hereditary from my father's side). After a rigorous search I decided I need laser blepharoplasty. I have tried natural remedies which didn't work at all. My only concern is if it will affect my vision. Can you help me with an answer?
Doing background research on the internet is fine -- but realize that some of the info may be misleading and some of it downright wrong. The use of a laser to perform blepharoplasty does not add anything to the results of the operation. The laser is used just like a scalpel and it doesn't have any significant advantages. A scalpel blade costs 15 cents while a laser will cost many tens of thousands of dollars. When a doctor uses a laser, who do you think is paying for it?
As for hereditary bags, this is usually extra fat which does require surgery -- natural remedies do not work.. Blepharoplasty does not affect one's vision.
Best to visit several doctors for their expert opinions --be sure you visit a board certified plastic surgeon or oculo-plastic surgeon.
