Can you please explain what a Barbie labiaplasty is?

I'm not sure yet if this is a procedure I'd be interested in having done on myself. My issue is with my labia minora. They're too big. I was considering a labiaplasty but when I heard there was something called a Barbie labiaplasty, I thought that might be way more up my alley and I was very intrigued by the name alone! Can you clarify for me how it works and why women would opt for this procedure over a regular labiaplasty? I imagine that the end result is, on the outside, a smooth-looking vagina like a Barbie doll's and on the inside a tighter, more streamlined vagina. That sounds great to me! I just need to find out more before I take this any further, so this is where you come in! Thank you in advance.
Without seeing photos it's difficult to determine which procedure would be best for you. Here is some quick information on the topic. The Barbie technique describes a labiaplasty procedure that removes the entire labial edge, creating a smooth or almost prepubescent look for some. It can carry the risk of hypersensitivity or pain during intercourse if too much skin is removed. The more traditional edge-trimming labia reduction technique leaves a small edge. Both procedures are usually done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia and light sedation.
As with all surgical procedures, you should consult with a few board-certified plastic surgeons who specialize in cosmetic procedures of the genitals (cosmetic plastic surgery gynecology). They'll be able to determine and recommend what surgical procedure is right for your situation as well as how to prepare pre-op and what to expect post-op.
Labiaplasty, also known as labia reduction or vaginal rejuvenation, has become increasingly popular over the last few years, especially in the United States. Women elect to have labial reduction surgery for a number of reasons – the labia are not visually appealing, the labia protrude to the point where clothing can rub or cause discomfort, sexual activity / sexual intercourse is difficult or uncomfortable, and/or to boost their self-confidence / self-esteem.
The Barbie technique usually refers to the complete hiding of the labia minora. Women who opt for this procedure desire a smooth genital surface, with the labia minora (inner lips) not protruding beyond the labia majora (the outer lips). This surgery is sometimes referred to as the Barbie labiaplasty because these dolls have no obvious genital features.
As with all types of cosmetic or plastic surgery, it is recommended that you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon(s) who has experience with procedures in the genital area.
