Does Insurance Cover Mommy Makeover?

I am aware that it has to be considered medically necessary. Is that ever the case?

Insurance has become very strict.  Insurance will not cover a mommy makeover in my experience.  They may cover removal of excess skin in excessive weight loss, however that is just amputating the skin on the bottom without removing the excess on the surface of the tummy.

It depends on what you consider to be a "mommy makeover".  This is a nonspecific term that could include liposuction, tummy tuck, breast lift, etc. If a breast reduction is part of the equation, then your insurance company might pay for this component only.  Insurance will NOT pay for liposuction, tummy tucks and other cosmetic procedures

Thank you for the question. If your mommy makeover involves a breast reduction then that may be covered by insurance. Ask a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to see if you qualify for it.

Good luck!

Hello Wanda81,

Thank you for sharing your question.  Unfortunately, this is never the case.  Insurance does not ever cover a mommy makeover.  I hope this helps you.
