Does rhinoplasty prevent your nose from getting bigger?
Since cartilage continues to grow with age, I’m convinced my nose is getting bigger. If I get rhinoplasty to make it smaller, will it prevent my nose from continuing to grow? Or is it possible that over time my nose will go back to the way it looks now?
After a certain change, the size of the nose doesn't change much with age. Rhinoplasty is better to improve the nose at its current condition, rather than as a preventative procedure. Surgery is permanent, but the nose continues to change with age. More often the skin becomes thicker and the tip becomes more droopy. However, the nose doesn't grow back to its original size before rhinoplasty.
