Does the swelling after breast augmentation go away?
It's been less than a month since I had my breast augmentation surgery and I'm still experiencing considerable swelling. The bra size I had hoped to fit into is now too small! I've had to go without wearing a bra for the moment. Aside from being painful, the swelling is interfering with my recovery process as it's causing me anxiety. Will the swelling go down gradually? Is there anything I can do to manage the discomfort until it does? Any advice will be welcomed.
Hi. The swelling after breast augmentation usually subsides over about 4-8 weeks. This may be longer or shorter depending on certain circumstances. Limiting your activity and wearing a sports bra to limit the swelling may help expedite the process. Make sure you discuss your question with your surgeon at your next appointment so that he/she can evaluate you properly in person and make better assessment of the situation. He/she can then give you better advice on what to do, if anything. Best of luck!

I certainly feel you owe your plastic surgeon a visit to make sure it's just swelling and not something else. After all. swelling is not expected to be significant after a well executed breast augmentation. Generally, the swelling that does exist will stay around for 4-6 months.
