How do you determine if a patient needs a thigh liposuction vs a thigh lift?
How do you determine if a patient needs a thigh lip instead of a thigh lift?
Thank you for the question and liposuction removes excess fat while a thigh lift removes excess skin and fat. Patients who have had significant body weight loss frequently require a thigh lift while those with stubborn fat on the medial or lateral thighs are candidates for liposuction. At a consultation with an expert what operation would give you the best result would be determined
- Hi. Thigh liposuction is a great way to contour the thighs in areas where there are excess fat deposits. The outer thighs or "saddle bags" are typical to benefit from liposuction. However, liposuction will not remove excess skin, and in fact, if liposuction is aggressive, more loose skin can be seen afterward. So in these situations where there is too much extra skin, a thigh lift would be necessary for a better contour. Your best bet would be to go in for an in-person consultation with a PS who specializes in body contouring procedures so you can learn your specific options. Good luck!
