How long does it take to recover from a tummy tuck?
My mind is pretty much made up… I want a tummy tuck. I know it’s a major decision but I’ve done my research and I think it’s time! One of my last questions is how long it usually takes to fully recover from tummy tuck surgery? I want to know specifics about time back to work, driving, exercise and other normal activities. Oh yea, I’m 34 if age is a factor.
Hi. Typically the first two weeks after surgery are restricted in terms of your activity level. After that, as long as things are healing well, you may start to drive and get around a little bit. I usually don’t recommend any strenuous activity for six weeks from surgery providing everything is progressing normally. Since everybody’s situation is a little bit different, it would be best to ask your surgeon his/her philosophy based on your particular situation. Best of luck!

Hello, thanks so much for your inquiry! Congratulations in taking this important step in your life. Normally, recovery from a Tummy tuck, would take 2-4 weeks to get to driving and to get back to work depends in what kind of work you do if it is a desk job 2-4 weeks, 4 to 6 weeks to start exercising.
Please make sure that you and your surgeon are on the same page. Don't forget to discuss all your concerns, options and expectations thoroughly. Have a safe and pleasant PS Journey!
