How long does the result from Ultherapy last?

I am looking into Ultherapy to tighten my turkey neck. But is it a long lasting result? When does the neck go back to how it was before?

Unfortunately there's no way to answer how long your Ultherapy results will last because the answer depends on your individual natural aging process.

Ultherapy is an FDA-approved non-invasive procedure which uses ultrasound energy to stimulate new collagen production within the skin. There are multiple factors that influence both the success and the longevity of the results. The answer would depend on the amount of pre-existing skin laxity, your age and your natural collagen-building abilities.

Ultherapy works by stimulating your body's own natural collagen production. While you may see some initial effect immediately following your Ultherapy treatment, you are more likely to experience the visible results of skin tightening within 2 to 3 months following the Ultherapy procedure.

The amount of time that collagen lasts depends on your natural rate of collagen loss -- which is tied to your body's own natural rate of aging.

I encourage you to wait for 12 months before having a touch-up procedure. While most of the results are visible within 2-3 months, some patients experience improving results even after the 6 month mark.

That's a great question. It's important for patients to have a realistic set of expectations before they receive Ultherapy treatment. The results, as you know are not permanent. However the exact answer depends on your natural rate of collagen production and degradation.

Ultherapy is a non-invasive treatment which has demonstrated a capacity to tighten loose skin. We typically recommend Ultherapy for patients who may be considering a facelift or other cosmetic surgery down the line but aren't quite ready at the current time.

The positive side to Ultherapy is that unlike many other cosmetic procedures, there is typically no downtime. While you may experience some very slight swelling, bruising or a temporary feeling of numbness in small areas following the procedure, most patients are able to resume work immediately.

The downside is that the results are not as visible or as long-lasting as a surgical facelift or other plastic surgery procedure.

We recommend that patients allow 12 months between Ultherapy procedures and a minimum of 6 months before receiving additional treatment.

Hi Edith298,

Each person’s individual aging process is the primary determinant with respect to how long the results last.

Ultherapy takes approximately 60-90 minutes to complete. There is no down time required, and most patients only require one treatment. However, if you choose to undergo this non-invasive neck lift procedure, expect the results to only become fully evident 2-3 months later.
