How long should I wait after eyelid surgery to use contacts?

I hate my glasses and haven’t worn them in forever, so my question is how soon after surgery can I start wearing my contacts again? I’m blind without them so I guess I’ll need to wear my glasses. I don’t think people won’t recognize me haha!

Hi Geraldine.  You will have some swelling after eyelid surgery and the lower lid incision may be inside the lid.  I usually recommend for may patients to anticipate two weeks after surgery before they can comfortably and safely wear contacts.  This will vary some from person to person.
