How much does a breast augmentation usually cost?
I have been saving up over the past 6 months in order to get the breast augmentation that I have always desired. I have about $3500 saved up and will continue to save a little bit each paycheck. Hopefully by the beginning of spring I will have saved up close to $5000. How much does a breast augmentation usually cost with all expenses included? This will be very helpful for my budgeting. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing your question. A Breast Augmentation price will vary by area drastically. My office is in New Jersey, and the pricing here is about $7300 for silicone implants, and $5700 for saline implants. This includes facility and anesthesia fees. Keep in mind that you will need to buy specific bras for post-surgery. You should consult with a few Board Certified plastic surgeons in your area and choose your surgeon based on your comfort level with him/her, and the surgeon's experience. Sometimes choosing a surgeon based on price only will leave patients with not-so-great results and regret. I hope this information was helpful to you.
Best Wishes, Dr. B.

The answer depends on what implant you and your plastic surgeon decide is the best choice for your desired results and where in the country you live. Typically the midwest and south are less expensive than the coasts. Call board certified plastic surgeons in your area- they should be able to give you a pretty good idea. I think you will be looking at around 5,500 to 7,000 for all expenses.

Generally the fees quoted in open internet forums are for MD fee, Facility fees, anesthesia fees, implant costs ONLY - In USA, fee range for saline implants from $3,500 to $6,500. For silicone implants the fees range from $5,000 to $8,000. Also these do not include Rxs, labs, bras, etc. Best to see a few private practice boarded PSs in your city in person. Regards Dr B Miami

It really depends on the surgeon and the area of the country that you live in. The average price would most likely be between 6K and 7K. When you are ready to move forward make sure that you see a board certified plastic surgeon. Make sure you are clear about what his/her prices include or don't include. Good luck!

Estimating the cost of breast augmentation surgery is a difficult thing to do because it involves many different variables. Consider the following:
Region of the country
If you live in an urban center, particularly on the east or west coast, expect to pay more for breast surgery. You will pay considerably less if you live in the middle of the country, especially in rural or suburban areas. The reason for this comes down to the costs associated with running a plastic surgery practice and the facility fees, both of which are much more expensive in large cities.
The skill and experience of the surgeon
The services of more experienced and skilled plastic surgeons tend to be more expensive than those offered by less experienced doctors -- although this isn’t always the case. Regardless of his or her experience, you absolutely need to make sure your surgeon has been certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon will alleviate any concerns about his or her ethics, safety standards, and their ability to perform the procedure correctly.
Type of implant
Breast implants vary in price, from one kind to another. Saline breast implants are generally the least expensive, costing roughly $5,300, while silicone breast implants can cost $6,000 or more. Naturally shaped implants cost more as well.
Another option is to inject your own fat into your breasts to increase breast volume. Although fat transfer augmentation provides results that are quite natural, it’s still a fairly expensive procedure.
Don’t always choose the cheapest option as it may not be proper for your individual needs. For instance, silicone may be preferable over saline implants should you be seeking a large increase in breast size.
Your best bet is to shop for a qualified local plastic surgeon who has been certified by the ASPS. He or she will be able to provide you with an accurate range of how much you can expect to pay.
Should you require additional surgeries at the same time as your breast augmentation procedure -- such as a breast lift or liposuction -- these will increase your costs as well.

Breast augmentation costs vary a great deal. For example, as a ballpark figure you can look to pay anywhere from $4,000 to $9,000 for the surgery, depending on a series of factors. For a more accurate quote, you will need to schedule a consultation with a qualified surgeon in your area.
When you get a quote, make sure it covers all of the costs associated with the surgery, including:
- Surgeon’s fee
- Facility fees
- Anesthesia fees
- Follow-up care
- Compression garment
Don’t base your decision solely on price. Often, the most qualified, best-equipped surgeons charge more for their services than their less qualified peers.
Today's world is exciting in the options available to alter one's figure to enhance their idealized self! Breast augmentation is one of these alternatives. Any option whether non-surgical, minimally invasive or surgical comes with the responsibility to understand ALL the consequences of the decision and cost is only one of these factors.
The cost of breast augmentation today (including implant, professional fee, anesthesia and surgical center) varies around the country but is generally $6,000-7000 for saline implants and $7,00--8000 for round gel implants. Anatomic or shaped implants will cost more as the techniques to place them and the implants themselves cost more.
Added costs must be anticipated including:
- loss of work time
- antibiotics and pain medications
- preoperative medical clearance, labwork and imaging studies if needed
- disappointment/side-effects/complications such as picking the wrong size, deformity after the implant settles or infection
- cost of a responsible companion and transportation
- and others.
Please consult with a Board Certified, experienced and talented Plastic Surgeon and responsible team to examine you and review your individual needs and discuss the requirements in pre-, intra-, and post-operative care for even a seemingly common surgery like breast augmentation.
I wish you the best!

Breast augmentations usually cost between $6000.00 and $8,000.00. It depends on the type of implants used, facility where the surgery is performed and also the area of the country in which you live. Make sure that you go to a board certified plastic surgeon.

Dear Christine Mill,
The cost of Breast Augmentation varies from practice and region but the cost of the implants should not go up or down depending on the size of the implant alone. A 350cc gel implant costs the same as a 650cc gel implant. The cost of the implants vary depending on the type of implant- saline vs silicone but not volume.
Most important is to pick a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon - Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. It can be hard and confusing for consumers when a physician may tell you they are Board Certified. Make sure it is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery as many Physicians are certified but it is in another area such as Dermatology, Gynecology, ENT, or some other specialty that does not have the years of training and Certification in Plastic Surgery required to be a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
We have all our Breast Augmentation patients not only utilize our 3D imaging so they can get a real visual on what the implants will look like on them but also to actually try on the different size implants with a tight bra and t-shirt to see what they might expect. That way they have a good visual of what a 450cc implant will do as opposed to a 350cc implant for example. You want to make sure that you see a surgeon that will listen to you and your goals for the procedure and discuss in detail their recommendation for size and shape not only taking into consideration your desired outcome but also your breast measurements before the procedure including your chest dimensions. And then let you try the implants that they feel will give you the desired result so you are in agreement with the size.
Rather than finding a non-certified surgeon that may give you better pricing it can be helpful to find a newer Board Certified Plastic Surgeon that has years of experience in training and surgery-required to become Board Certified in Plastic Surgery but is newer in practice. They have the latest up to date training and highest standards as currently set by the newest technology and are able to pass on to the consumer much better pricing. Newer highly trained Board Certified Plastic Surgeons often assist patients with special pricing to make sure the patients are getting the expertise and experience rather than cut corners. Check for special pricing here on Zwivel and make sure the surgeon is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and you may find the perfect Plastic Surgeon for you who is able to work with your budget without cutting corners!
The answer depends on whether you just need an augmentation or if you also need a lift, and also what kind of implants you choose. So it could range from about $6,500 to about $9,500.

In San Antonio, Breast Augmentation with saline implants runs between $5000 to $6000, and with silicone gel implants is $6500 to $7500.
