How to reduce swelling after abdominal liposuction?

I had abdominal liposuction 10 days ago and off pain medication, walking upright. I was wondering how can I get the swelling down on my tummy? Can you please help me?

Rest is the first step to limiting the swelling.  A compression garment or binder can help prevent as much swelling as well.  Talk with your PS to make sure that what you are experiencing is ok for the procedure as it was done.  Best of luck!

After Liposuction to the abdomen, patients can notice swollen for 6 weeks and sometimes upto 3 months.  It takes the lymphatic system that long to heal and drain the tissue.  The best things to decrease the swelling is localized compression.  And the key is to have smooth compression with no edges or indentations that can occur with sitting for long periods or having a kinked compression garment.  Lymphatic massage, which is light circular massaging can also help.
