I weigh approximately 235lbs and I was wondering about how much the excess skin would weigh after a panniculectomy procedure.

My pannus hangs down over my entire pubic area and "flaps" when I run or jump.  The only reason that I don't have rashes and sores is because I wear my panties under my pannis so I don't chafe.

Panniculectomy patients can sometimes have the procedure covered by insurance, especially if you have rashes and other symptoms. However, be careful not to expect a full abdominoplasty with muscle tightening and liposuction to be covered by insurance.

The weight of the pannus really varies among patients but can range from a couple of pounds to over 10 (and even more in morbidly obese patients). I caution patients not to expect massive weight loss from this operation.

The weight of a pannus will vary, but it usually is only a few pounds.
