Is an intense pulsed light photofacial different than IPL?

Tags:woman age 55-64 fine lines

Are they one in the same or is an intense pulsed light photofacial different than standard IPL treatments? I am new to the world of cosmetic surgery and laser treatments, so please excuse my ignorance! I just turned 60 and for the most part my face looks youthful, but I would like to get rid of a few fine lines. Thanks!!

IPL (intense pulsed light) to the face has been called 'photo facial'. IPL treatments can be done on other parts of the body - chest, neck, arms and hands, but its hard to call those 'photofacials'.  They are essentially referring to the same treatments that improve sun damaged skin, improve sunspots, red spots and texture.

Now, Forever Young BBL is an IPL facial treatment that uses the Sciton device and a specific protocol that has been shown to prevent skin aging, if done 3 to 4 time a year.
