Is PlexR an alternative to a blepharoplasty?
I saw PlexR being advertised as an alternative to surgery (blepharoplasty) for getting rid of droopy eyelids, and apparently compatible results to that of surgery without the risks of surgery. Is this true?
Further to this, I get the idea that my brows will get a lift if I am able to lift my sagging forehead first before considering PlexR. Any non-surgical procedure that actually works for lifting and firming skin on the forehead that will automatically improve the droopy eyelids before considering PlexR for further improvement? I am a 36 year old male. Many thanks for your responses in advance.
Plexr treatment is a non-surgical alternative to a traditional surgical blepharoplasty. By using plasma (heated, ionized gas) the Plexr device causes excess skin to contract around the treated area.
The procedure is recommended for both upper and lower eyelids and is effective on any skin type. We’ve achieved excellent results on mildly loose skin with Plexr as well as with skin discolored by sun spots or damaged by excessive sun exposure. No incisions or stitches are required during the treatment, which makes Plexr an appealing skin tightening alternative for patients who aren't ready to commit to eyelid surgery.
Aside from being an effective non-surgical eyelid treatment, Plexr is useful for treating crow's feet, neck wrinkles and frown lines. It is also an effective treatment for both active acne and acne scars.
Without an in-person consultation there's no way I can give you any direct advice. If you're interested in a non-surgical blepharoplasty alternative, I encourage you to meet with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine which options make the most sense for you.
"Plexr soft surgery" uses plasma arcs to treat fine lines and wrinkles without requiring surgery or a general anaesthetic. This non-surgical procedure heats the tissue around the treatment area and stimulates tissue retraction and skin tightening.
The total Plexr procedure-time is usually in the neighborhood of 30-60 minutes and will require anywhere from 1-3 treatments. You should plan on a 6-week healing process between each session.
The treatment itself is usually pain-free, and in most cases your surgeon will administer a numbing cream to keep you comfortable. It's normal to feel a sensation of heat during the procedure, and afterwards you will likely feel a mild tingling or burning sensation.
Please note that while Plexr plasma is appropriate for treating a broad range of fine lines, blemishes and acne scarring -- not all patients are good candidates for the treatment. Plexr is best for treating mild eyelid skin laxity and droop.
For more serious eyelid correction a surgical blepharoplasty may be required.
