Is swelling from Liposuction normal after 2 months?

I am coming up on my 2 month mark and continue to see swelling around my stomach where I received liposuction. Is this normal? I have followed all of the guidelines from my doctor but still feel like I have swelling. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My daughter is getting married in 3 months and I need to make sure my recovery is on the right track.

Its still normal to be swollen at 2 months after liposuction.  I think the time for most of the tightening is between 2 to 3 months and sometimes to 6 months if we use the skin tightening procedures like Renuvion or ThermiTight.

But if there is a localized swelling that is more prominent than the whole treated area - we have them come in to be evaluated for a seroma.  Which we can easily treat under our ultrasound guidance.

Hi Igjivi:

It is definitely normal to have swelling at two months.  I usually tell my patients that the final result will take at least 4-6 months to be reached.  You may be able to accelerate your progress with deep tissue massage so that you will be as close to your goal as possible for the wedding.
