Should I get an inner thigh lift or thigh liposuction?

I noticed the skin on my thighs has gotten loose, especially on my inner thighs. I don't know if it's fat or just saggy skin due to aging, because I weigh 158 lbs, and my weight hasn't fluctuated much. Do you think thigh liposuction would be enough to reduce the excess fat, or do I have to go through an inner thigh lift to tighten the whole area?

Hi, typically if you don't like the loose thigh skin, then liposuction would not be a great option.  Liposuction, when done by itself, will allow loose skin to get looser, and this may look worse.  A thigh lift is the most effective way to get rid of loose skin, but requires a long scar to do so.  For some people, using skin tightening technology like BodyTite, is an effective way to help tighten skin, accomplish fat reduction, and avoid long scars.  Check with a surgeon in your area who offers this to see if you are a good candidate or not.  Best of luck!

In general, if you have sagging skin, liposuction will not help this, and it may actually make it worse.  Up until your 30's, your skin will likely retract somewhat.  After your 50's, it doesn't retract much at all.  You are in your 40's, so you will likely get some retraction, but it will depend upon how much sagging you have.  You can always do the liposuction first, and if your skin does not retract enough then get a thigh lift later on.  I would recommend consulting with an experienced cosmetic surgeon to discuss your options.  You can post your Request right here on Zwivel and get multiple opinions online.  Good luck.
