Thoughts on Brazilian butt lift and Tummy Tuck?
Does anyone think that it is a good idea to get a Brazilian butt Lift and a tummy tuck at the same time? What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing both of these at the same time? In my opinion they are both substantial procedures and getting them at the same time could be really tough to recover from.
In my practice I would not do them at the same time. I do not want to have a patient under anesthesia for more than 5-6 hours for elective surgery. Combining these would create a longer anesthesia time, issues with moving patients on the operating room, issues with surgical vectors as we remove skin and of course, issues with how you recover and if you lay in your front or back.

My two cents. Not a fan of the Brazilian butt lift. Hate the look. I think you are seeing only the very best results online. No one posts their mediocre or bad results. Fat grafting is not guaranteed to work. The videos I have seen of Brazilian butt lifts being done show, in my humble opinion, way too much fat being injected at one time. This is likely to lead to death of the fat cells and less chance of success. I suspect that many more results are less than ideal with contour irregularities, asymmetry, etc. Ironically, my mother was Brazilian and I was raised in a Brazilian culture where the ideal female form tends to be small breasted with full hips, thighs, and buttocks. It is a cultural thing. I never found this attractive so I won't do it.
Yes you are correct. Recovery would be very very difficult. In Florida can not combine TT with BBL if over 1 liter fat removed, a Board of Medicine rule. Since most need over 1 liter fat removed this combination of operations would or could not be done. I also would do BBL first. Regards Dr B
