What are the signs of a breast implant that is about to rupture?
I am 2 weeks post op and from day 1 I've felt this small hard bulge that is squishy when I push it. It doesn't hurt but as time goes by it is more notable. My surgeon said it would go away but I'm worried that the implant folded over. If so, should I be worried about it potentially rupturing because of it? Thanks
Hi. There are lots of things that change in the first several weeks after surgery. Although it would be extremely unusual to have this type of problem right away, the best advice I can give is for you to have close follow up with your surgeon so he can examine you and tell you how he/she thinks you are progressing. Open communication with your surgeon is always the best approach.
It would be best to wait for full healing and settling of the implants before worrying about implant rupture. The modern implants are very sturdy. One everything is settled, you can re-assess and speak to your surgeon again. I am sure he/she will follow your progress anyway.
