What is the best way to lighten face skin?

My face is 5 times darker than my body and I have tried lightening it. The more I try to lighten it the darker it becomes. Please advise.

There are many ways to correct hyperpigmentation or darkening of the skin. The best advice I would give you is to meet with your local board certified dermatologist that ideally specializes in issues of this nature. In addition, review all of the products you are using in detail to look for potential irritants that could cause underlying inflammation and ultimately worsen your hyperpigmentation. If you are using the topical bleaching agent, hydroquinone, for more than 3 months you will increase your risk of a skin condition called exogenous ochronosis; which mimics the skin darkening but typically in a more grey-like tone. Lastly, sun block with iron oxides and SPF of 30+ should be worn daily to prevent UV and visible light from darkening the skin.

Good luck,
