What is the recovery time for a breast reduction?

I am absolutely planning to have this surgery in 2017, but now my plan is to figure out what time of year I should do it. What will the recovery time be from the surgery and how long until I can go back to work? I am an administrative assistant and most of the time I am at my desk. However, sometimes I do walk the hallways to deliver certain messages.

We tell our patients that they can get back to basic activities in 1 week, but to wait 3-4 weeks for strenuous activities, exercise, or heavy work.

Hi, most of my patients that have "desk jobs" get back to work in about 1 week.  It takes a few weeks before you can do strenuous activities, but walking in the hallway should not be a problem.  Anytime is great to have the procedure, but if you do it in the winter or spring, then you will be ready to go for the summer for things like getting in a pool!  Best of luck! Let me know if I can help.

Hello! Thank you for your question. Every patient is different so healing and recovery times may differ along with ones own level of pain tolerance. Typically I see my patients taking about 3-4 days to recover. Good luck!
