What procedure should I get to make my eyes appear more open?
i have hooded eyes and you cannot see my eyelid at all when I take pictures. I would like more space for my eyelids and to make my brows appear higher to make my forehead smaller also. What procedure would this be to make my eyelids bigger and make my eyes appear more open and have more lid space? What would the downtime and cost for that procedure be?
It sounds like you have upper lid skin excess and sagging brows. This is the natural result of aging, and the best treatment options for this is an upper lid blepharoplasty and browlift or browpexy. Without photos it is difficult to say for sure, but your profile says that you are only 23. That said, it is unlikely that you would need these procedures. Botox to the sides of your eyes and between your eyes decreases the amount of muscle pull toward your eyes, giving you a more "open" eye appearance. That may be your best option.
Dr. Gary Breslow has 25 Upper eyelid lift, Browpexy before & afters:
Hooded eyes can be treated with upper blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) with or without brow lift surgery. Upper eyelid surgery is a minor procedure which can be performed in the office via local anesthesia. Even younger patients who were born with excess skin might benefit from such a cosmetic procedure. Here is an example of young patient with excess eyelid skin.
As with any plastic surgery, an office evaluation is required to help determine if one is an appropriate candidate.
Dr. Houtan Chaboki has 2 Brow lift, Upper eyelid lift, Lower eyelid lift, Fat grafting, Chin implant, Liposuction, Facelift, Necklift before & afters:
From the description, you would need a brow lift and upper blepharoplasty. This would do both things you are describing. Some patient only require a brow lift depending on how much the lift is because it will also lift the eyelids. Please see a board Certified plastic surgeon for a consult.
