What's a non-surgical alternative to eyelid lift surgery?
I care about my appearance, but not so much to undergo a major surgery just for the sake of not having saggy eyelids. What alternatives do I have: creams, lasers, injections? Do any of these offer guaranteed results?
Depending on the amount of skin laxity, a neuromodulator like Botox or Dysport can sometimes help to raise the brow. Also, a laser treatment can also tighten the skin a bit and help give you a more lifted appearance. An upper blepharoplasty, while a surgery, can often be done under local - with minimal downtime (5-7 days). Most patients recover quite quickly. Surgery is usually the only way to guarantee a result, but with injectables and lasers you may have to stack treatments to see results.
Non surgical treatments will NOT give the same level of results, so if you're willing to live with lesser results, everything you've mentioned can be helpful. There are no guarantees in life, as you may have heard. The best thing you can do is educate yourself, find a reputable doctor, and ask whether or not you're a good candidate. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified.
