When does swelling go down after liposuction?

It's 30 days after my tummy liposuction and I'm shocked that there's still so much swelling. I was told beforehand that the swelling can last quite awhile but I never followed up to learn how long "quite awhile" actually is. Is it normal that I still have such swelling one month after my liposuction? I'm discouraged.

Swelling goes down with gravity. At thirty days you should expect to have swelling in the lower abdomen and pubic region as well as on the sides.

Compression garments help your body to resorb the fluid faster as well as lymphatic massage.  You should not expect to see your final result for

8-12 weeks from the surgery.

Hi Danielle, I tell my patients that they may not see the final results for 4-6 months, and sometimes even longer! I hope you are wearing your compression at all times.
