Will Antibiotics Work For Ingrown Hairs?

I am prone to ingrown hairs from shaving my legs. Recently, I had an outbreak of ingrown hairs and I was curious if there is anyway to treat this orally with an antibiotic? I'm not sure why so many of my hair follicles got impacted and I'm hoping it is not a different skin condition.

Antibiotics may be helpful if you develop an infection as a result of the ingrown hairs, but they will not decrease the incidence of having ingrown hairs.  It is likely that you are developing the ingrown hairs as a result of the shaving.  I suggest you try a different razor, shaving cream, or a different method of hair removal, such as laser hair removal.
