Will breast tissue grow back post breast reduction surgery?
If I end up getting a breast reduction, is it expected that breast tissue will grow back over time? If that’s the case would it be possible that enough tissue would grow back forcing me to get another reduction? I would hope breast reduction is permanent, but what do I know!
Hi. As long as your breasts are not still getting larger, and have been a stable size for at least 1 year, then it is unlikely for your breasts to get large again. It could happen if you gain a lot of weight or with certain hormonal issues, but this is not very common. You should be able to expect that you would not need another breast reduction surgrery in your life. Best of luck!

Breast reduction surgery is a great procedure to reduce oversized breasts. Before performing the procedure, plastic surgeons generally want to confirm from the patient that the size of the breasts are relatively stable to prevent the recurrence issue that you are describing. That said, recurrent breast hypertrophy is possible, albeit rare, and is often the result of weight gain and/or hormonal issues.
