23 Year Old Review of My Rhinoplasty. Before and After Photos, Experience Before, During and After Surgery.
My name is Sana, I am 23 years old and this is my experience getting a rhinoplasty.
During puberty, I was very unhappy with the way I looked. It began when I started to notice changes in my appearance. One in particular stood out - my nose. I started giving it a lot of attention and it became my biggest insecurity.
I began watching documentaries about plastic surgery at a very young age and had done a lot of research about rhinoplasty. I quickly came to the realization that I wanted a new nose and more importantly, I wanted to do it for myself. I knew it was time for me to finally get my nose job.
Last summer, I flew back to my home country and decided to make an appointment with an aesthetic plastic surgeon at a private clinic, located in Sulaymaniyah/Iraq. This doctor had been recommended to me by many of his patients whom I had known personally. All of them had said he was a great doctor and rhinoplasty surgeon. All were very satisfied with the results of their procedures.
I met with the doctor and I was satisfied enough with him, that I decided to book my surgery that same day. It wouldn't be long before the nose I never liked would hopefully be replaced by a much more appealing, different nose.
My surgery took place on August 14th, 2016. A week before the surgery, I was already the most nervous and anxious I have ever had been in my life. I was not afraid of the thought of going under the knife, but of getting general anesthesia, because I did not know what to expect. I had done all the crucial tests early in the morning before undergoing surgery and after staying in my room for a few hours it was my turn. Surgery time.
After I had woken up from the surgery, I felt no pain but my head felt very heavy. I immediately wanted to sleep again, which I did. A couple hours later, I was able to stand up and visit the bathroo. Afterwards, I was ready to go home.
The first 1-4 days after my rhinoplasty, I had a terrible headache and constantly took medicine, which helped a lot. The most uncomfortable, painful experience of my whole rhinoplasty journey, was definitely removing the cast, when my nose was cleaned. Other than that, I did not have any major issues. My swelling went down significantly after a week and one month after the procedure I was completely healed (I had a little swelling for 8 months but it was not that noticeable).
Before undergoing any kind of plastic surgery, I highly recommend patients invest a lot of time in themselves and ask if plastic surgery is the right decision. I knew from a very young age that I wanted a rhinoplasty and I am very happy that I did it. It was the best decision I ever made but it's not one others should take lightly. Make sure you do your research when looking for a qualified doctor and make sure plastic surgery is really what's going to make you happy. Good luck with your cosmetic surgery journey!
