Breast Aug with lift and Lower Lid Bleph - Who Would’ve Thought Plastic Surgery Could Be This Easy?
Before and afters
Breast augmentation - Silicone breast implants
I got my breast augmentation and lower eyelid blepharoplasty at the same time. I’d known for a while that I wanted them, so once I found a plastic surgeon that I liked, I didn’t waste any time. I can say without a doubt that it was the right decision.
My mom got her eyelid surgery when she was about my age, 45, and her eyes look fantastic, so I must have known for 20 years that I wanted to do the same. Not to mention, I’m aging, and I had really bad dark circles under my eyes. It was time.
As for the breast augmentation surgery, I’ve got kids and, you know, after pregnancy, your breasts are a little deflated. So for me it wasn’t really about increasing my breast size so much as it was about breast shape. I was looking for a bit of a breast lift and the silicone breast implants did that for me.
Honestly, I had no reservations about getting cosmetic surgery. I’d had liposuction done a while back before I’d moved to my current city, and I loved it. The only thing standing between me and getting these procedures done was finding the right doctor.
Finding Dr. Zemmel
I shopped around for years without finding any plastic surgeons that I was satisfied with, but I was immediately satisfied with Dr. Neil Zemmel. So that says something right there.
My past experience with cosmetic procedures (the liposuction) showed me that with the right doctor, I could get the results I wanted. After my consultation with Dr. Zemmel, it was clear he was that doctor.
His before and after pictures were amazing. He was also highly informed. During the consultation, he challenged my assumptions about what I wanted, or thought I wanted, helping me find the right surgical procedure for my needs. His fairness and honesty made it clear he was a surgeon that I could trust.
Finally, he was so confident. He knew he could deliver the results I was looking for, and that made me trust him even more.
The plastic surgery procedures occurred on December 13th and went as smoothly as can be. I mean it. I wasn’t nervous at all, and I experienced no pain. In fact, I’d say it was an extremely comfortable experience. I know that sounds odd, but it’s true.
They put me in this little heated suite, which I loved and had never had before. It kept me warm throughout the procedures, which definitely added to the comfort level. I then received the lower lid blepharoplasty and silicone gel implants.
The nursing staff, anesthesiologist, and Dr. Zemmel himself were all so wonderful and caring. I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience.
Recovery and Results
Frankly, I didn’t have much pain during recovery either. I still have most of the pain meds that Dr. Zemmel gave me because I just didn’t feel the need to use them. I also didn’t have any complications, unless you consider a little acid reflux a complication.
Honestly, my only concern post-op, and it wasn’t really a concern, was that I had quite a bit of bleeding in my right eye, so it took longer to heal. But I know the eye is a delicate area, and that the recovery time on that was going to be a little longer.
Aside from that, the healing process was really smooth. Dr. Zemmel had sent me home with instructions for caring for my new implants, including massages I could do for both my silicone implants and eyes to help them heal, reduce swelling, and improve the outcome in terms of scar tissue and what have you. They absolutely helped.
I was out of work for only a couple of days and was ready to hit the gym in about 2 weeks. The whole process was really easy, and I’m in love with the results. I’m actually planning to go back to Dr. Zemmel for more procedures.
Cost and Overall Experience
Both procedures together ran be about $14k, and they were so worth it. I am completely satisfied with the results and my experience with Dr. Zemmel.
My advice to anyone looking to have blepharoplasty or breast augmentation procedures done is don’t wait. Get it done. You’re going to love the results and it’ll give you a lot of self-confidence. I honestly wish I’d done these procedures when I was younger. Put the effort into finding the right doctor, and don’t look back.
