Coolsculpting is Expensive but Delivers Results
Procedure specific satisfaction rating
I am 29 years old and I live in Hoboken, New Jersey. I am single and have always been very big into physical fitness. When I was in my early twenties, I competed in a few fitness competitions. At that time, I barely had an ounce of fat on my body. I also found myself taking an unhealthy amount of supplements that caused me to lose hair and made my nails very brittle. It wasn't a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. As I got into my late twenties, I became very busy with work and didn't have time to exercise like I did in the past. I started to put on weight and began waking up earlier in the morning to squeeze in extra workout time but I could not get rid of my stubborn fat. I even tried a few weight loss diets but my body remained the same.
I decided to get Coolsculpting because I'm still single and very self-conscious of the way I look. I did not want to develop love handles and let my body go. I remember the attention I got when I was very fit and I wanted to keep getting that attention.
I scheduled my Coolsculpting treatment with the Schweiger Dermatology Group in Hoboken, NJ. As the Coolsculpting advertisement in their waiting room said I wanted to 'fear no mirror.'
My treatment began with me lying down in the Coolsculpting room. A nice physician assistant named Todd then took measurements of my fat with a plastic tool called a 'cool core.' He then marked out the areas the applicator would be applied to. I was unhappy with the back of my arms and lower abdomen, which would take multiple sessions. Due to the limited amount of time I had, I decided to have all of my Coolsculpting sessions done in a single day over the course of 3 hours. Each treatment took about 30 minutes, with the applicator being moved each time. When the applicator is first applied, you feel intense cold for around 10 minutes but this goes away. Also, each time the applicator was moved, I was left with a frozen red block of skin that was massaged for 2 minutes and that's supposed to help kill fat cells. I felt a little bit of pain when the applicator was removed from the treated area but once it was massaged I didn't feel anything. I was pretty comfortable throughout the whole process and they gave me a blanket to help stay warm. I personally did not experience any 'nerve pain,' which I had read about online. My entire Coolsculpting treatment passed by relatively quickly with the help of the laptop I brought with me and I went home after my last treatment area was done.
It's now been months since my Coolsculpting experience and I would say I'm satisfied with the results. For a non-invasive fat loss treatment, it works about as I expected. It's expensive though and you should not expect dramatic results. My body looks better than it did though. If you want more dramatic results, I would instead have liposuction done but that comes with its own risks. Coolsculpting is a safe fat reduction treatment and I do recommend it if you can't eliminate the trouble areas on your own.
