Didn't Like Kybella at First, But Then Loved It
I am a 40-year old mom of five, who wants to keep my skin looking rejuvenated. As time goes on, aging is inevitable. In modern times, medicine has come a long way with technology. I was doing some research on technology related to diminishing fine line and wrinkles when I came across Kybella, which is known for getting rid of fat under your chin (also known as the double chin). Normally, I would just diet or exercise to lose this extra little fat, but I have been exercising and dieting and some fat still remains. It was not much and thought It may be a great investment in my whole mommy makeover experience. I went in to my physician’s office, Dr. Amy Alderman, and she performed the procedure.
First, I was given an ice pack to numb the area and then she placed a grid under my chin area. The grid was similar to a stick-on tattoo and was used as a guide for the placement of the Kybella injections. The injections then started and a total of 1.5 vials of Kybella was used on my double chin. I experienced virtually no pain during the injections. After the injections, I did not have any pain. All I felt, was a little bit of tenderness.
The next day after my injections, my chin was literally swollen like a bullfrog. I was also bruised from the injections. The swelling lasted about 3-4 days, with days 1-2 being the worst. After a week, the swelling started to go down, but my neck line remained as it was prior to the procedure.
After a few weeks, I noticed tightness and itching in my neck. Little-by-little, my neck line began to slim down. The tenderness started to subside and by my 2 months follow-up appointment with Dr. Alderman, my neck line was right where I needed it to be.
I am totally happy with the results I've had from my Kybella injections. In fact, I'm so happy with them, that I've decided to go in for an additional vial of Kybella. Typically, most people require 2-3 Kybella treatments and sometimes even more depending on how much fa you have under your neck and how your body reacts to the treatment.
My overall experience with Kybella was great. I have no complains and I feel that the procedure was a total success. I spent $800 per vial.
