Dr. Breslow Fixed My Melasma with HALO Laser Treatment
Before and afters
I had melasma after pregnancy. It made my skin appear blotchy and uneven. Having worked in dermatology and skincare after college and very much enjoying the industry, I looked into skin treatment options that might help. HALO laser treatment is the only laser that works for melasma due to the hybrid fractional laser. Most other laser resurfacing treatments actually make it worse.
Several weeks ago, I turned to Dr. Breslow for a HALO treatment. I’d already gone to him for a breast implant exchange and lift, so I knew that I trusted him and his staff.
The treatment was simple and easy. It as a little uncomfortable, but the pain was minimal thanks to the topical anesthetic. After applying the numbing cream, Dr. Breslow used a HALO hand piece to administer the laser. The whole thing lasted about an hour and was worth every minute.
There was minimal downtime. That’s one of the nice things about HALO. However, I was pretty swollen the next day. I felt like I didn’t even look like myself.
It was bad enough so that I emailed the office the next day before they were even open, because I was concerned. The aesthetician got right back to me and assured me it was all normal. Even so, Dr. Breslow checked it out. The whole office is responsive and great. They really make you feel safe in their hands.
A couple of days later, the swelling had gone down substantially. At that point, it looked like I had a ton of crazy freckles. Over the next week, they peeled away and took some of the melasma browns with them. I’d say the total recovery time was about a week.
Honestly, I’m still seeing the results get better and better. In about a month, I should see the full results. My once uneven skin tone looks amazing, with fewer brown spots, and the skin texture has improved. I plan to return for HALO treatments once every year or two to keep my skin looking fresh, and I absolutely will go back to Dr. Breslow’s office. I can’t speak highly enough about them.
