Face & Neck - Laser/Peel by Dr. Craig Schwartz
Before and afters
PicoSure Focus Laser Facial
I recently had my 2nd PicoSure Focus Laser facial at Premier Vein & Body by Schwartz. I think it is a somewhat newer laser treatment to treat wrinkles and fine lines, treat acne and other scarring, and tighten skin and promote new collagen. I was mostly interested in it to treat a very old chicken pox scar that I've had since I was 10. I had been researching my options for years. I've had IPL treatment for redness/minor rosacea on my cheeks, but that is not ideal for scarring. I know that some laser treatments are considered to be very good to remove scarring, but they sounded very harsh and can have days/weeks of downtime/excessive peeling/no makeup, etc. I don't have time for that. Plus, I'm a baby with pain.
About a year ago, I read an article about the PicoSure Focus LaserFacial. I frequently travel to KC for work and prefer to get haircuts/aesthetic treatments, etc. when I am already away from home and my family, and found Dr. Schwartz years ago when I was searching for some vein treatment. He has since expanded his medical practice to now include all sorts of aesthetic and body contouring treatments. The PIcoSure laser facial was noted to be very gentle with NO downtime or pain. After the first treatment several weeks ago, I noticed a lightening of my chicken pox scar right on my face. I also noticed a reduction in size of my nose pores (one of the worst things about aging), along with just an overall really nice tone to my skin on my face. After my 2nd treatment, I'm really noticing a lightening of my scar. I didn't notice as much change with my pores this time, but really happy with how the scar is progressing.
I am a total baby, and this treatment does not hurt, sting or anything at all! They put some sort of numbing cream on my face 30 minutes prior, and it was so strong, my lips were still numb a few hours later! I think all doctors should use this numbing cream! They offered some sort of chilling machine to blow cold air on my face, but I told them that I did not need it. So far, a big fan of the PicoSure laser facial, but I just need to finish my final treatment!
They say you need a series of 3 PicoSure treatments to really see noticeable improvement. I paid $1500 for series of 3, but I think I saved $200 when they were running an introductory special. So far, happy with results. I'm sure they are not as drastic as they would have been with a full MicroLaser Peel, Fraxel, etc., but, again, I am a real baby when it comes to pain, and I can't think of a period of days where I can go without make-up. PicoSure seemed like the gentler approach, even though it take a series of 3. Will post before/after photos after I have my 3rd treatment.
