Great Rhinoplasty With Dr. Bustillo in Miami
Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to remove the hump on my nose. I felt very self conscious about it to the point where I would wear sunglasses everywhere to hide the hump on the bridge of my nose. I always felt it was too big and it made me feel very self conscious, especially when people looked at me from the side. Even taking pictures was a big deal for me because I felt like I looked ugly from every angle, just because of the hump on my nose. To add to that, I also had a deviated septum which made it hard for me to breathe from one side of my nose and one of my nostrils is much smaller than the other. At 22 years old, I finally decided to do something about my insecurity and breathing problems.
So, after doing my research I came across Dr. Bustillo in Miami, Florida. He has stellar reviews and he only performs facial plastic surgery. 50% of which are just rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. I decided to make a consultation appointment with him in December of 2017. The consultation went amazing. I met with Dr. Bustillo and we spoke about what I wanted and why I wanted it and he explained everything to me. He explained to me how the surgery works, what he does in the surgery room, and he let me ask all the questions I had in mind. He made me feel very calm in this whole process and helped me understand what exactly I will feel during this whole process.
Since I have a deviated septum, he was going to perform a Septoplasty to fix the deviated septum and my nostrils and then he was going to perform a Rhinoplasty to remove the hump on the bridge of my nose. He also reassured me that he will make me look 100% natural and that he always takes out less than more cartilage. This way it will always look more natural and he offers a free revision surgery if you ever want to change something else after the first procedure is done.
After the consultation I decided I was going to do my surgery with Dr. Bustillo in January 2018. January 11 to be exact. The surgery cost was about $8,000 in total for both procedures (septoplasty and rhinoplasty). I was given a Rhinoplasty manual with all the instructions for before the surgery as well as all the prescriptions that I would need for the recovery. Dr. Bustillo also gave me his email in case I needed to contact him with any concerns.
The night before surgery he called me to ask if I was ready and if I had any last minute questions. Come surgery day, I was not as nervous as I thought I was going to be. He made me feel very at ease. My surgery was at 7 am and I needed to go fasted that day. Surgery went super smooth and I woke up 2 hours later with a cast on my nose. He said I did very well and that my new nose looks great! I was very excited at that point. He told me recovery was not painful just uncomfortable because of the cast. He was right. I had the cast on for 6 days and could not breathe from my nose because it was swollen. My eyes didn’t bruise too much, just a little bit as it is completely normal in the recovery process.
The day after surgery I went in to remove tissues that were in my nostrils. 6 days after that I went back to remove my cast and it was the first time I was able to see my nose. My heart was so full of happiness that day. My nose was still swollen but it looked so beautiful and I was finally able to see myself in the mirror and feel pretty from every angle. That to me is why I did this, to boost my confidence and to make me feel good about myself everyday.
Overall, my recovery went super smooth and I had no complications. I followed everything on the manual they gave me and it was easier than I thought it was going to be. It has been two months since surgery and I feel great! I can breathe better than ever before.
