I decided to have a series of treatments done at the Aesthetic Rejuvenation Center in New Jersey to treat the wrinkles and acne scars that I had on my face. I had fillers, microneedling, microdermabrasion and Ultherapy performed to improve my appearance. This particular review will be about my experience with the Ultherapy treatment.

For those of you that don't know what Ultherapy is, it's a noninvasive skin treatment that uses ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles (which I had around my eyes). Collagen production induces skin tightening, which helps remove wrinkles and fill in depressed acne scars (collagen is stimulated at the bottom of the scar and pushes upwards). Ultherapy is FDA approved for the face, neck and to lift your eyebrows. A friend of mine used it for her double chin and it did help tighten her neck skin and gave it a lift.

Pam at Aesthetic Rejuvenation Center performed Ultherapy on me. The procedure itself was a piece of cake. I had it done immediately after a Dermapen session (be sure to read my review in the Dermapen hub on this site). The Ulthera handpiece is glided over your skin and a gel is applied underneath it. As the machine goes to work, you'll hear it making a series of beeps. I didn't feel any discomfort at all during the procedure but was warned that I could potentially feel some tingling or needle prick sensations. Pam also warned me that I would likely have some redness after the procedure. How red I would get depended on the sensitivity of my skin.

The produced didn't take long at all and I didn't have any redness, bruising, swelling or anything after the procedure. About 3 hours after I got home, I got very red. My face and neck felt like they were on fire. It wasn't painful but wow, I was really red. It looked like I had stayed out in the sun all day without sunscreen. The redness lasted for a few days and I personally didn't mind going out in public looking like I had a sunburn, but I have read lots of bad reviews from people who were angry with their appearance post-treatment.

Around 2-2.5 months later, I saw results. The combination of having several procedures has really improved my skin texture. I don't have as many wrinkles in my eye area and my acne scars are much more shallow or have disappeared completely. I think I had good results from my treatments and I believe Ultherapy does work. It seems to have helped with my wrinkles and acne scars.
