Procedure review

Hi Everyone - My name is Alana Arbucci and I am 19. I live in Connecticut, and I got filler put in my cheeks about two weeks ago. The reason I decided to do this was not because I specifically wanted filler in this area. It was actually a result of getting my nose done. Two months ago, I went to Beauty Fix MedSpa in NYC, to get a non-surgical nose job. I wrote about my entire experience of having my nose done on this platform. I also vlogged the entire process which is up on my YouTube channel, “Alana and Steve.” Beauty Fix charges $850 for a non-surgical rhinoplasty. That is the price for one syringe. After my nose was completed, I had a little filler left over from that one syringe. I was given a few options when it came to where I wanted to put the rest of the filler. Since this filler (Restylane) is a bit denser than others such as lip filler, it was not recommended that I put the rest in my lips or any area that required a soft filler. I was given the option of my cheeks or my chin, but this type of filler can also be put in areas such as the jaw line. My nurse, Alla talked to me about my options, and together we decided the cheeks would be the best area for me. So in this case, the price of this procedure was free because it was part of my non-surgical nose job.

Beauty Fix is a professional, safe, clean, and friendly environment from the street the business is on, to the actual office. On the day I went to get my nose touched up (which is customary for every patient), a month after my initial non-surgical procedure, I also got my cheeks done. My nurse’s name is Alla, she is very informative, friendly, and down-to-Earth. She always tells me exactly what my procedure entails, she moves slowly when injecting me and stops every now and then to show me the result and see if I have anything to comment.

The pain level of the cheek filler was very minimal, in fact I was actually smiling during the entire thing! I was not numbed for this procedure, and honestly I do not think it is necessary. I also did not receive any numbing before my non-surgical nose job, and that was not very painful either in my opinion. However, if I had to pick which one hurt a little bit more I would probably say the nose because it is a sensitive area with cartilage, bone, and it did take longer than the cheeks.

Even at a young age of 19, the skin begins to lose elasticity and collagen and starts to droop a bit. The filler was not put on top of my cheek bones because the bone holds the shape of the face. The area of the cheek with bone underneath cannot droop sine there is obviously a bone there preventing that area from sinking in.  So, my filler was strategically placed right where the bone ends in the cheek area. That is the area where my skin noticeably began to lose some volume and that was the area I needed the filler most. The difference is not extreme, because we only used about half a syringe or less in total. However, getting this little amount put in will prevent me from needing a very large amount of filler in the years to come. I like the idea of preventing an issue before it becomes harder to fix. I am grateful that Alla suggested this placement of the filler because if she left it totally up to me I would have no idea where to put it. With that said, however, she did not push the idea of putting the filler specifically in my cheeks, as I said she did give me other options. Overall, I am happy with the result!
