1 month ago I got Botox at my dermatologist’s office. I have been going to her for regular skin care treatments for years and each time I visit, I stare at the Botox ad she has on the table in her reception area. I thought I was too young to have Botox injections in my previous visits to her office, but then I started to develop forehead lines in my late 20s and I wanted to prevent them from turning into deep wrinkles. My mom taught me to nip an issue in the bud when it arose. So I made an appt with my derm. to get my first round of Botox injections. Admittedly I was a bit nervous. I had never done an unnecessary 'medical procedure.' But I can't deny it - I'm pretty vain about my looks.
The injections were literally nothing. My doctor injected me about 10 times on my forehead and between my eyebrows. Around 20 units of Botox were injected in total. I never felt faint or any discomfort other than a few little pinches. My doctor put an ice pack on my forehead and told me to hold it there for a short while. My entire treatment took no more than 10 minutes from the time I sat in the chair until I was allowed to leave.
3 days after my Botox injections I still noticed nothing. But when I looked in the mirror, I realized that when I went to scrunch up my forehead, no lines were forming. The old lines I had were filled in too and not easily visible. I was super happy with what I saw. Botox really works and it was money well spent.
