Juvederm Vollure XC Worked Well For My Nasolabial Folds
I am 36 years old and have lived in Austin, Texas, for the past 18 years. Call me shallow, but I have always cared about my appearance and have done everything possible to ward off the signs of aging. I started with preventative aesthetic treatments when I was 28. The first real treatment (besides facials and good skin care) I received was Botox for some fine lines I had across my forehead. I received only Botox treatments 2-3 times a year up until last year, when I began getting filler injections for my nasolabial folds. I had my filler treatments performed at Westlake Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery and my injections were done by the amazing nurse Kelly Wala!
The day of my first filler appointment just happened to fall before an event I had to attend. I told Kelly and she said a new FDA approved hyaluronic acid filler called Juvederm Vollure XC had just been released. She said it contained Vycross Technology, which if I heard Kelly correctly, prevented water from being pulled in while the filler was injected and this caused less swelling at the injection sites. Kelly then explained that the injections did carry the usual side effects of bruising, swelling, etc., but that she thought I would be okay for the event I had the following day.
Before Kelly injected the Juvederm, she cleansed my skin and then used this device which looked like a gold bar. It vibrated and was placed just above where my skin was injected. I was told the vibration would distract my nerves when the needle pierced my skin and it did! I really didn't feel much of anything when the needle was put through my nasolabial fold lines.
It didn't take much longer than 5-10 minutes for my entire treatment to be over. When I was handed a mirror to look at my results, the deep nasolabial folds had already disappeared. I had a very small amount of redness where the Juvederm was injected but no noticeable swelling.
When I woke up the next morning, the deep lines around my mouth were completely gone and I had no swelling or anything! I attended my event that night and even received a few compliments about my youthful appearance. It made me feel really good about myself.
My Juvederm Vollure XC cost $800 and 1 syringe was used on my face. I am in love with my results and highly recommend both Kelly and this filler. I no longer worry about having my smile lines show up in photos because they're gone! Hopefully fillers help me gracefully age until I need something stronger!
