Loved My Experience Getting Lip Fillers
I am an 18-year-old female living in Seattle, Washington, who has recently had lip fillers done. I had them done at the Gallery of Cosmetics in Washington. My treatment was done by a very sweet nurse by the name Amanda. In total, I paid $400 for lip fillers. I received 1 syringe, which is singl mL.
I wanted my lips done to give them a very plump look, even though I was born with big lips. I was already happy with my lips, but I wanted them to be bigger, just because it is very in style and I am very much in love with the plump lip look. There was no need for a consultation prior to the appointment. When I went in, I was led back to a room by a nurse. We talked about what I wanted, I showed her pictures of my preferred look, and we both discussed what she would be able to do with 1 syringe. She was very honest and knowledgeable. The doctor who does the plastic surgeries there came in and just checked up, reassuring me that Amanda was very well qualified to do lip fillers and he listened to my concerned and gave me a run-down on everything that was going to happen and the healing process. He answered any questions I had and was overall very nice and smart. Once the surgeon had left, Amanda applied numbing cream to my lips. After about 10 minutes, I couldn’t feel them which meant it was time to get started! It was very casual, she injected where she thought I needed it and then handed me a mirror about half-way through the syringe and asked me what I thought. She asked me where I felt like I needed more, we discussed it, and she continued. After every injection, she would massage my lips which made me feel comfortable that there wouldn’t be any lumps in my lips. For the most part, I didn’t feel a single thing. My most sensitive part was my cupids bow, where most people are sensitive. It wasn’t terrible, just a little pinch feeling. When we were done, she handed me a mirror and I absolutely loved them. They were perfect and just how I wanted them to be. She was honest and told me that they would decrease in size over the next month and that they are only temporary, so they will only last for about 6 months before I need more. They gave me an ice pack to help with the swelling and pain, which there was afterward. It is hard to drink or eat for about 2 days afterward and they did have a lot of swelling and bruising. Personally, I had 1 syringe of Restylane because that is what was best suited for me, but depending on what you want, it could be different for you.
The first day I noticed swelling and the swelling did get worse after a few hours. They got so big that it was hard to even talk. The swelling only lasted about 24 hours and I could go out in public again. The bruising was a little hard to cover, so I would advice not going into public until the bruising goes away after about 3 days. It is best to drink from a straw afterward, but even that hurts. Eating is also painful, but tolerable. After about a week, your lips will look plump and full, but don’t get too excited because it does go down a lot after 2 weeks. Most people complain because of the major decrease, but Amanda had warned me this would happen and not to expect them to stay as plump as they are afterward.
Overall, I loved my experience and would go back.
