Procedure review

I've had a love-hate relationship with Cetaphil daily facial cleanser over the past 10 years. I first started using it when I was a senior in high-school (18 years old) and at the time, I had oily skin and was prone to frequent acne breakouts. Thinking that my acne was being caused by the harsh cleansers I was using, I decided to seek out a face wash for sensitive skin. After walking up and down the skin care aisle at CVS, I came across Cetaphil's cleansers and moisturizers. I decided to give their gentle skin cleanser a try and for the next 2 months, I used it morning and night.

When I first started using Cetaphil cleanser at the age of 18, I didn't like it. At the time, I had oily skin and Cetaphil didn't seem like it was strong enough for acne-prone skin. After breaking out even worse on their gentle cleanser, I decided I much preferred harsher facial cleansers, like Neutrogena's Oil Free Acne Wash. I felt like the harsher washes were better at removing surface oils, which I had a ton of as a teenager. I hated the excess oil I had on my skin and would often shower multiple times a day to get rid of that gross, oily-feeling I had. For years, I tried every new product on the market and none of them seemed to work. I eventually realized the problem was not my skin cleanser, but that my oil glands produced too much oil. To solve this problem once and for all, I knew I had to do try something more extreme than some face cleansers. I needed an acne cure!

Fast forward 8 years and I love Cetaphil cleanser. After so many years of chronic acne, and never going more than two weeks without clear skin, I finally decided to go on Accutane (which was absolutely amazing BTW). During and after Accutane, my once oily skin became dry skin. I went from using every acne product out there as part of my skin care routine, to using only Cetaphil's gentle cleaner and Oil of Olay's sensitive skin moisturizer. Now I love Cetaphil. It's so gentle and leaves my face feeling clean and soft. I personally think it is the best cleanser out there for people who have solved their acne issue. It's not harsh and I love it!

I don't user any other Cetaphil products, but I think their facial cleanser is awesome! I'm a big fan of it and I think you will be too. If your acne is gone and you're looking for a gentle cleanser, this is the one you want. I will be using this wash for a very long time to come!
